Door Types
Picking the best shower door for your space and shower.
Let’s explore all your door options
A range of different shower enclosure types, styles and shapes are available to help you make the most of your showering area. However, it is critical that you make the right choice to help achieve the perfect end result.
Sliding Doors
Sliders incorporate sliding glass panels that move along the tracks attached to the enclosure. Compact in nature, slider doors do not require additional clearance space to open or close.
Suitable spaces: Slider doors suit small, large, alcove or corner spaces in your bathroom.
Hinge Doors
Hinge doors swing outwardly in one direction when opened. Unlike slider doors, hinge doors do not have any tracks at the bottom are therefore easy to clean and maintain.
Suitable spaces: Hinge doors suit small, large, alcove or corner spaces. Consideration must be taken for the direction the hinge door will open when working in a smaller space.
Pivot Doors
Pivot doors open outwards, pivoting from a point on the top and bottom of the door profile. This enables part of the door to pivot into the enclosure to provide a space saving solution. The nature of the door opening makes it perfect for an alcove but can work in other spaces when accompanied by a side panel.
Suitable spaces: Pivot doors suit small, large, alcove or corner spaces. Consideration must be taken for the direction the pivot door will open when working in a smaller space.
Saloon Doors
Saloon doors consist of two hinged or pivot doors that can open both inwards and outwards. Saloon doors meet in the middle when closed and create a wide, easy entrance to the enclosure.
Suitable spaces: Saloon doors suit large spaces, wide alcoves or long corner spaces. Consideration must be taken for the direction the saloon door will open.
Quadrant Doors
Quadrant doors are curved, and can therefore work in some tighter corners. Fitting into a 90-degree corner with a circular face, quadrant showers can have a slider, hinged, or double slider door.
Suitable spaces: Quadrant doors suit small, large, alcove or corner spaces. Consideration must be taken for the direction the quadrant hinge door will open when working in a smaller space.
Bi-fold Doors
Bi-fold doors work by folding in on themselves instead of opening outwardly into your bathroom space. Bi-fold doors are a popular choice if you have a shower positioned immediately adjacent to other bathroom elements such as the doorway, vanity area and so on.
Suitable spaces: Bi-fold doors are frequently installed in alcoves and tight spaces.
In-fold Doors
In-fold doors are brilliant for saving space in the bathroom while maximising access to your shower enclosure. In-fold doors work by opening inwards, minimising the outward opening space required in your shower area.
Suitable spaces: In-fold doors are frequently installed in alcoves and tight spaces.
